It’s good to have a vice. Something you can do that you probably shouldn’t. Those moments you take for yourself that may not be the best for your body, but feel so good on your soul.

Pineapple and chocolate shisha (Hookah tobacco) swirled together in smoky goodness, pulled through ice cold water and deep into my lungs. I hold my breath for a second and feel my heart beat slow in my chest as I blow the smoke from my body I watch it curl and dance in the currents of the rainy evening air. I’d never have smoked anything in my life if it weren’t for my fascination with the thick clouds of smoke escaping my breath right before my eyes. Breathing is something that must be done, but not until that oxygen is laced with the fog of burnt leaves do you really begin to understand just how your breath travels as it warms in your chest and you release it into the air.

Guilt….  I suppose that’s why they call it a guilty pleasure… Now it’s off to drink a few glasses of cool water pop a couple vitamins and apologize to my body for treating it poorly…

Please feel free to Comment. Thanks

The strapping young winds drive each drop forcefully into the earth saturating the grounds and drenching the trees, but no matter how violent or rough the storm gets a new day will come and the sun will shine again.

Leftover Rain – Sunlight glistens from the cool surface of a fleeting stream as the flora lined banks stretch and grow with the warmth of a new day.

Worm Trails – As the storm subsides and the sun shines down once again, all that is left of these minuscule creatures struggle for life are the trenches cut through the drying expanses of a slowly withering mud puddle.

Tea and Hot Chocolate for two.

I’m a Chilly Foggy Mornings, Freezing Foggy Evenings Humboldt girl through and through.  So there’s nothing I enjoy more than cranking the air conditioner up in my Honolulu home, wrapping myself in a warm blanket, putting in a movie, snuggling up on the couch with something toasty warm to drink, and pretending just for a moment that I’m back home in my parent’s log cabin with my puppies passed out at my feet, and the soothing sounds of the wind and the rain working together as they wash the world clean.
