Do your house plants seem a little dull? Maybe they’re just lounging around being lazy producing absolutely no glitz or sparkle. Well that’s not their fault, they are only plants after all and sometimes it takes a little more than water and sunshine to make a girl feel pretty.

But do not fear! A Marble “plant bling” (I’m kicking myself for stooping so low as to use the word “bling”) tutorial is here!!!

And for those of you not into the whole DIY thing you can enter to win your very own 3 piece set by leaving a comment on this page (scroll down for details), and if you don’t like those odds head on over to my Etsy shop and buy some pre-made plant flair all of your own! for only $8 shipped!

This is what you’ll need!

Ruler

Copper Wire (I use 16 gauge but anything small will work)

Marbles (One marble per stake)

Wire Cutters (or funky scissors you don’t care about denting)

Needle Nose Pliers (I like the round ones)

Is it really November already?

It feels like 2011 just started, and here we are less than two months from New Years Day.

I can hardly believe it!

This week I’ve been thinking a lot about Christmas, and what gifts I’m going to give. I prefer not to spend a whole lot of money if I don’t have to, and if I can get away with making someone their gift that’s even better! But I must say I am a strong believer in only giving handmade gifts if the person is really going to like it. Because otherwise you’re working hard to make something that’s just going to be stowed away and forgotten.

I was recently turned on to this wonderful blog called The Daily Telegraph and this great post about things to do with plastic animals really struck my fancy. There’s one piece in particular where she uses the heads of decapitated plastic animals to make jewelry hooks and I can’t wait to make my own! View that post here.

About a week ago I wanted to surprise my husband with his favorite cookies so I whipped up these super yummy Chocolate Dipped Orange Sugar Cookies I came up with last year! They are really good and can be made with Oranges, Lemons, Limes or even Grapefruit!

Have a wonderful weekend!

~The Giveaway Entry Method is at the bottom of this post~

My daughter SweetPea was born with a full head of hair, so much hair in fact that it entered the world a good 30 minutes before the rest of her. Since day one it’s been beautiful, dark and curly.

But a few months after she was born when the squirming and the sweating really kicked in, so did the tangled rats nest on the back of her head. I tried combing it after washing and brushing it when it was dry but nothing worked and everything just made it frizzier and frizzier until I gave up for a few days and she grew the beginnings of little baby dread locks.

I had to find a solution (preferable an organic one). I scoured the internet for a few days here and there and finally found a product I really wanted to try. It was Nature’s Baby Organics Lavender and Chamomile Conditioner made with more than 70% Organic Ingredients, Hypoalergenic, Cruelty Free and Vegan which are some of the most important things to me when it comes to the products I put on my baby’s skin. I would like to start this weekend off with a big thank you to Earth Mama Angel Baby for so graciously supplying me with a bottle of Angel Baby Shampoo and Body Wash and being so kind as to include an extra bottle for me to giveaway to one lucky reader!

I would also like to thank everyone who entered in and helped to promote my giveaway with a special thanks to Linda over at Contest Girl and Blog Giveaways for helping get the word out!

After years of longing I finally splurged and bought myself a Nikon D5100 and I am LOVING it! Photography has always been one of my passions and I’m so excited to pursue it further with such a fancy new camera. (Note the Sunflower picture above)

This week I made Pumpkin Scones from a recipe I found over at Pure and Yummy and they turned out amazing! When I think of scones I think of a dry flavorless biscuits with a couple of freeze dried blueberries on top, but in the holiday spirit and with an oversupply of canned pumpkin I tried this recipe and was shocked at how incredibly moist and delectable these little guys turned out. I had no idea a scone could be so savory and delicious; This recipe is a MUST for your Autumn cooking arsenal or honestly for any time of the year.

And Finally I would like to Congratulate Shirley F. on Winning the Angel Baby Shampoo and Body Wash Giveaway!( You should have received an email from me already)

Look for a Nature’s Baby Organics Giveaway Coming Soon!

Have a wonderful Weekend Everybody!
