Autumn is coming. Slowly but surely the days are getting shorter and the air begins to grow cool. Rain in the forecast and apples ripening on trees. My favorite time of year.

Fall is by far my favorite season. I love it when the days start feeling chilly and I can finally break out those sweaters that have been lying dormant in my closet all summer, but not all good things come with chilly weather. Fall means cold/flu season and feeling under the weather is an almost inevitably unavoidable. So when you or a loved one does start to feel a little sick, grab your favorite chicken soup recipe and head on over to Sophistimom for a tutorial on how to add a little extra love to your comfort food with heart shaped carrots. I may mask my desires to spend time in Humboldt with the allure of the majestic redwoods, and the familiarity of the cold gray ocean, but the real appeal, that little something that I just can’t stay away from would be my four dogs, too old, or to attached to the fresh air, rain, and humidity less sunshine to survive the perilous journey across the pacific.
